Dear Friends In Love of Christ and His Church:
From their respective origins, all three local parishes embraced the same central mission; namely, 1) to make available the Holy Sacraments and 2) to teach children the faith by means of providing Catholic education for them and their families.
All three local parishes established a Catholic school soon after they began. Holy Angels inaugurated Catholic education in our area in 1845. St. Mary’s began a Catholic school in 1857, two years after the parish was established. Sts. Peter and Paul's school actually predated the establishment of the parish in 1866.
The bold and innovative creation of a single, comprehensive pre-K to 12 Catholic School in 2002 – Sandusky Central Catholic School - marks the continuing dedication of all three local parishes to provide the very best Catholic education. Celebrating impressive successes of Catholic education in the 21st century, Sandusky Central Catholic School is characterized by a contemporary vision that is no less daring than the dreams which first secured Catholic education as a top priority in the three local parishes.
The 5-Year Strategic Plan (2010-2015), recently approved by the Board of Directors, clearly and courageously states the vision of Sandusky Central Catholic School:
• SCCS will be the preferred school of choice for 800 students.
• SCCS will provide students with significant academic and developmental advantages for college and life.
• SCCS will teach the Catholic Faith and instill moral and ethical foundations that are in conformity with the Magisterium of the Church.
May God bring to completion the great works He has brought to us locally through His gift of Catholic education which has shaped generations of believers.
