Message from Superintendent

Welcome to Sandusky Central Catholic School where values, tradition, and family are incorporated into the learning environment. We open our doors to you and invite you to visit our campus. You will find our environment one of spiritual growth and educational opportunities.

The school year began with a new theme: Ambassadors plant the seeds of greatness and shine their light on others. Every person involved in the mission of SCCS (past, present and future) are ambassadors. Ambassadors support, get involved, and promote the importance of a faith-filled school. Ambassadors work together in a collaborative, productive manner. Ambassadors create positive memories which last forever and instill Panther Pride

We are seeing results from our theme already. We have increased enrollment for the first time in 10 years. We are laying the foundation in the offices of admission and business. We are refining our development office to become more inviting and productive. We are designing our future.

Many projects have become a reality this summer because of the time, talent, and treasures shared by our Panther Family and constituents. It is all about focus, commitment, and teamwork. Many of these projects involved ad hoc committees in collaboration with our faculty and staff.

  • The cafeteria has been renovated for students to enjoy lunch in a relaxing place.
  • Another multiage classroom in grades K/1 has been implemented
  • A math pilot program will provide input as we look at strengthen our math program.
  • The elementary students have morning visual announcements on the Smart Board.
  • The remodeled achievement center will increase academic support and assistance.
  • Online courses in the high school will begin this school year.
  • The distance learning lab (Room 206) will provide more educational opportunities.
  • Lights have been installed on our new parking lot for safety and security purposes.
  • The Prayer Garden, on the west side of our campus, reinforces our faith-filled setting.
  • The creation of the Leadership Center will increase communication and efficiency.
  • Bussing is now in place for our Danbury students.
  • Elementary teachers were hired with math and science strengths.
  • To assist visitors: An information desk is in place at the Jefferson Street entrance.
  • In process: Front door safety locks for increased security
  • In process: The installation of a Chair lift for the Den
  • In process: Providing a computerized cafeteria service beginning in January, 2011.

We follow our mission by enriching the mind, the body and the spirit. As we embrace the power of daily prayer and we count our blessings we see things happen.

  • 100% of our students graduated, 100% passed the OGT, and 100% now attend college.
  • Five sports went to state with Michael Gallagher winning a gold and a silver medal.
  • Our students are taught by highly qualified teachers, some with multiple credentials.
  • Barb Ott and Steve Kohler, consecutively, received the Diocesan Golden Apple Award.
  • Michele Gallagher received the Chamber of Commerce Service Award.

We are a school of choice and we believe we have much to offer. Come join us by calling the Superintendent’s Office at 419-627-9550. Peace and May God Bless!

Judy Monaghan, Ph.D. Superintendent
